Instead of us just telling you how good we are, we asked Gemma Price, blogger, exporter and co-founder of Superfood Market and Wellbeing International to tell us why she likes using our cloud-based Sage One Accounting software.
1. Hi Gemma, can you please give me a brief summary of who you are, the name of your business and what you do?
I’m the co-founder of two businesses, Superfood Market and Wellbeing International. I am a vegetarian and try to lead an organic and cruelty-free lifestyle, my businesses represent these values, making over 7,000 products available to consumers all around the world.
Superfood Market is the consumer facing online retail business and Wellbeing International is the B2B wholesale entity that has no domestic presence and only trades internationally. Our biggest markets are the Middle East and North Africa.
2. How many people are in your business?
I have business partners for both companies, plus employees, apprentices and contractors that help us during busy periods. I also mentor young entrepreneurs graduating into international trade for the first time. They come in and learn the ropes working in a live international operation.
3. How long have you been using Sage One Accounting? How were you managing your finances beforehand? Why did you change?
I have been using Sage One Accounting for almost two years, switching from Intuit QuickBooks. We changed on our accountant’s advice and looking back I wish we’d done it much sooner!
4. What do you like best about Sage One Accounting?
Free 24/7 telephone support as it’s helped me and my staff keep a tight handle on where the business is. It’s great to know support is only a phone call or email away.
5. Have you downloaded the free Sage One mobile app yet? If so, what do you think?
I have downloaded the app and it’s really handy for keeping track of where things are on the go. The app especially comes in handy for Wellbeing International’s sales staff who can produce invoices on the go and email .PDFs of them to clients!
6. What advice would you give to someone starting out in business / following in your footsteps?
Being the boss is hard – “Heavy is the head that wears the crown!” Always think, plan and consider a new venture fully – seek professional business advice online on the various free community forums before starting to trade. And remember that you can do anything, but you cannot do everything. Dream big and good luck!
