On Friday, the Sage One team attended the National Enterprise Network annual conference and awards ceremony at The British Library in London.
We were there as an exhibitor and sponsor of two ‘Future of Enterprise Support’ awards which asked National Enterprise Network (NEN) members to nominate examples of innovative approaches taken in the delivery of enterprise support – making their organisations successful and sustainable, despite difficulties they may be facing in the current climate.
1. Future of Enterprise Support Award (under £1 million turnover)
Enterprise support organisation Ignite Business Enterprise Ltd in Essex received the ‘Future of Enterprise Support Award (under £1 million turnover)’ award due to its impressive efforts in refocusing its activities in light of reduced funding.
It’s been a busy year for the team – with a merger, a rebrand and a renewed focus on providing income generating services to secure its future; whilst also maintaining a free advice service for its local community.
Ignite’s collaborative approach – forging strong relationships with other enterprise agencies, the county council and local schools and businesses – has been hugely successful and it is now looking at expansion plans due to the success of its business structure changes.
2. Future of Enterprise Support Award (over £1 million turnover)
The ‘Future of Enterprise Support award (over £1million turnover)’ was awarded to Britain’s Energy Coast in Cumbria.
With local populations forecast to decline, the BEC team saw the need to develop an innovative approach to dealing with local economy challenges – and published ‘The West Cumbria Economic Blueprint’ – a strategy that identifies ways to overcome barriers and sets out a 15 year vision for development in the area through a programme of actions which will help to accelerate business innovation and support an enterprise culture in the region.
The Sage One team would like to congratulate both teams on their deserved win and wish them continued success over the coming months and years!
