How many 80’s songs can you squeeze into a blog? One of my favourite parts about product management is listening to what our customers are saying and sometimes you get some really Gold (Spandau Ballet) comments…
We’ve recently been speaking to our customers who are using Sage One Payroll in HMRC’s pilot year for PAYE Real Time Information…and you know what the results are really quite Respectable (Mel and Kim).
Some might believe that come 6th April 2013 with the introduction of RTI that the streets are going to be a bit like a Ghost Town (The Specials), but customers using Sage One Payroll during HMRCs pilot year believe it’s going to be a Good Life (Inner City) with 100% stating that submitting RTI with us ‘was easy’.
When HMRC first announced that RTI was coming it certainly gave us Food for Thought (UB40) – how can we unravel this Sweet Little Mystery (Wet Wet Wet) and it made us Stop! (Erasure) and think…our initial perception was that submitting to HMRC every time you pay your employees could increase the admin burden for small businesses so our priority was not only to make it easy but how can we make it quick….our customers were concerned also about Burning Bridges (Status Quo) with their employees if they did not get payroll Ride On Time (Black Box).
It was going to be a hard slog…..there were times when we thought about packing it in and I Nearly Died in your Arms Tonight (Cutting Crew)…but our mission was to help small businesses….so I took a deep breath and thought I’m Never Gonna Give you Up (Rick Astley)…So the Harder I Tried (Brother Beyond) we wanted to make sure our RTI experience was Solid (Ashford and Simpson).
The good news…100% of Sage One Payroll customers stated that ‘RTI has not increased the time it takes to run their payroll’.
With a Good Heart (Fergal Sharkey) we’ve been helping HMRC spread the news of RTI to make small businesses aware…but it’s also up to small businesses like you to Shout (Tears for Fears) and help spread the message that it’s coming and you have to tow the White Lines (Grandmaster Melle Mel) as its compulsory.
So if you want your business to be Alive and Kicking (Simple Minds), Walking on Sunshine (Katrina and the Waves) and have a Celebration (Kool and the Gang) for your first easy and successful RTI submission come 6th April 2013, or if you feel Trapped (Colonel Abrahams) and want to Breakout (Swing Out Sister), why not join the growing numbers of sstart-ups, micro and small businesses choosing Sage One Payroll for a brilliantly simple payroll experience?
