Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB)The Sage One UK team is pleased to announce that we have partnered with the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) to provide each and every member and student with their own free Sage One software.

Our cloud-based Sage One Accounts and Payroll software has been designed specifically to appeal to the one-person-band and micro-business customer which the ICB says makes up much of their client base.

Ami Copeland (ICB Head of Communications) said: “It’s a real coup for us to be offering this software as an inclusive benefit of ICB membership, available to the newest student and the oldest Fellow.”

“I’m particularly excited to be working this closely with Sage because their software is at the heart of many bookkeepers’ working lives. The strength of this partnership is testament to the power of the bookkeeper and the volume at which the ICB is banging the drum for our profession.”

What will ICB members receive?

The partnership means that ICB members now have access to:

  • Sage One Accounts (usually £10 + VAT per month)
  • Sage One Payroll 15 employee (usually £15 + VAT per month)
  • Sage One Accountant Edition (an online client manager which is usually £10 + VAT per month)
  • Access to Sage One Accountants Programme (SOAP) resources (including marketing materials, webinars, event support and access to a dedicated business consultant)

In addition, ICB members will have access to free 24/7 UK-based telephone support and there are no accreditation fees to pay to Sage for training or to become a Sage One recognised bookkeeper. As long as you remain an ICB student or member you will never pay for your own licence. This incredible offer is optional, and you have the option to unsubscribe from the service at any time.

Bookkeeping enthusiast and Sage One guru, Fran Holmes said: “ICB members can really broaden their horizons with Sage One which could allow them to service a specific section of the market at a lower cost. Whilst some ICB members will continue to use Sage 50 Accounts for the regular clients they visit for a day or two every week or month, Sage One can be used for the simpler small businesses and young startups who want everything online and want to be able to see first-hand how their books are doing.”

“The great thing about Sage One is that you can work on your client’s data remotely. They can enter their figures and you can log in anytime to fix it and send off their VAT return. Whilst you may not have time to take on more day clients, you can use Sage One to fill in the gaps in your work schedule and add another ten clients for whom you work two hours a month.”

How can ICB members access their free software?

The ICB will be issuing exclusive product activation codes to their members over the coming weeks via email. Although there’re no charge, customers will also be offered the chance to set up a direct debit mandate so they can become resellers of the software to their clients. In the meantime, keep an eye on the ICB UK Facebook Page for further details.
